ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Runway Richy

The Atlanta rap scene has been one of the most fledging markets in the past decade and a half, sprouting some of Hip Hop’s biggest names. Fortunately, the grass roots work ethic is not lost on the region’s new crop of talent, case in point, Runway Richy. The Decatur, GA native kicked off 2016 with a bang, releasing his very well received project “China Cafeteria,” hosted by comedian DC Young Fly. The tape’s success was a trial by fire of sorts. After watching a beat that was originally his end up in the hands of 2 Chainz and becoming the breakaway hit “Watch Out,” Richy later suffered depilating injuries in a terrible car accident just three days after the release of “China Cafeteria.” Having to learn how to walk again, the emerging star stayed committed to his mission, performing at SXSW 2016 on crutches.

This same dedication to his craft is what led him to heights such as a starring role in the film “Hotlanta,” a fan favorite on YouTube. Inking a deal with CKP Ent out of Atlanta, he launched his own imprint, 4AM Records with his manager KD and producer Saucelord Rich of Fki (who produced 2 Chainz's "Watch Out"). At the present moment, Runway Richy is putting the finishing touches on his follow up project “China Cafeteria 2.5: House Special,” which already boasts a feature from the likes of Trae Da Truth. Runway Richy is most certainly one to keep an eye out for as his star and stock continually rises.
