A Dreamy Night was Upon Us

Ladies and Gentlemen, A fairytale was among

our realms as we gathered and fellowshipped

at MLK Memorial Library for

The ‘Dream Gala’ presented by The Hour Generation.

The Hour Generation Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering youth in underserved communities to explore their talents by providing them information, resources, and extracurricular programs and services to maximize their potential and realize their special gifts to attain success in life. The Hour Generation Foundation was founded by Jerami Grant, NBA player & USA Men’s Basketball Olympic Gold Medalist. -https://hourgeneration.com/about/

Now back to the epic night, the inaugural Hour Generation Foundation's Dream Gala  geared to raising money to continue the mission of empowering the youth. It was so beautiful to see just how much this foundation helps community. The night showcased a realm of childhood memories, fairy tales and everything whimsical. From Cinderella to Princess Tiana to Beauty and the beast, the entire event provided enchantment.

Founder Jerami Grant and Secretary Gail Taylor spoke with me briefly on the importance of the night;

Tonight my city gets to bask in what I created for the youth and give back to a good cause” - Jerami Grant

Tonight I am elated to see our dreams come true for the youth and many more families to come due to the success of the night” - Gail Taylor

I was provided the amazing opportunity to attend this gala by DMV’s own Mercy Chikowore, renowned award winning Celebrity Publicist. Her key for the night was allowing media to capture not only the gala but the purpose that goes beyond the night. I was invited into their hearts, I was able to see Jerami and Ms. Beverly Grant-Holston’s home life in this one night and it spoke volume to who they are as people. I saw community, I felt community, I experienced security and that is exactly what their mission is in its entirety.

The night was hosted by Emmy award winning King Flexxa with fellow hosts Dom Adams, Alex Elle, IDK, Chela Mitchell, Jason Reynolds, Marci Rodgers, and Christina Wilds.

The huge applause of the night went to Kevin 'Unkle Scooty' Hallums who helped anchor the night and with all these dynamic names, can you understand why this gala was such a dream?

An unforgettable evening of philanthropy and fashion and it was just that, if you do not believe me, take a more in depth look below at the amazing photos of the night provided by Ace Views Photography.
